Cameron Norrie has revealed what Nicolas Jarry said to him after their epic five-set battle on Court 1 at Wimbledon. Jarry was fuming to the umpire about Norrie's second service motion while the Brit was taking a toilet break at the end of the second set.

The Chilean, who lost both of the opening sets, staged an incredible comeback to force the tie into a decider. Norrie dug deep in the fifth to see out a 6-3 7-6 6-7 6-7 6-3 victory.

As the pair shook hands at the net, Jarry had some choice words for Norrie as they engaged in a heated discussion. And Norrie explained why they clashed.

"He said I was a little bit vocal and I think that's my energy. I was pulling from my team and then I just said 'man, you competed so well and hung in there so well and it was an amazing competitive match'," Norrie said.

"I love it, I loved the Chilean fans too and you guys definitely pulled me through the match there at the end."

Norrie added: "I think credit to Nicolas for staying with me. He played better than me in both tiebreaks and deserved it.

"I didn't want to let his game style bother me. I had to keep fighting and I forgot to get my coach a birthday present, it's his birthday today. I had to get him something so I got him the win."

Norrie had the chance to wrap up the fourth-round tie two hours prior but he wasted match point while on serve during the third set tiebreak.

"I was thinking 'I should have gone T' for about an hour but I hung in there. I got tough when I needed to and honestly you guys were so good so," he explained.

"At the beginning of this year I was struggling with confidence and had some doubts. I just wanted to enjoy my tennis a little bit more and I enjoyed it today.

"It was a bonus to win but I'm more happy that I was enjoying it and playing point to point."
