New Delhi: Sharad Kelkar is making a powerful return to the small screen with the much-talked-about television series 'Tum Se Tum Tak', and he’s not shy about addressing the buzz around his reported pay cheque. The actor, who stars alongside Niharika Chouksey in the upcoming show, has responded to claims that he is the highest-paid actor on the series.

In a recent interview with IANS, Sharad confidently said, "Yes, I charge for it. What’s wrong with that? If someone is earning well, people should be happy, not jealous. It’s a sign of achievement. If an actor returns to television, it’s because they have value. No one’s calling you back just for nostalgia—you have to bring something to the table."

'Tum Se Tum Tak', premiering on 7 July 2025, marks Kelkar’s return to television in a lead role after years of making a name for himself in film and web series formats. According to the actor, it was the story that convinced him to come back to TV. The show was first offered to him in January, but due to prior commitments, he had to pass on the project. When the makers reached out again in March, he was hooked by the fresh concept.

'Tum Se Tum Tak' Plot

The series introduces a distinctive storyline—one that pairs Anu, a 19-year-old girl played by Niharika, with Aryavardhan, a 46-year-old business tycoon portrayed by Sharad. The show explores the complexities of their emotionally rich and socially unconventional relationship. Kelkar mentioned he was intrigued by how the narrative focuses on “two different worlds colliding.”

Sharad Kelkar made his television debut back in 2004 with Aakrosh on Doordarshan. Over the years, he has built a diverse career in both TV and films. He is married to actress Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar, and the duo even participated in 'Nach Baliye Season 2'.
