With a massive budget of Rs 1600 crore, Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming movie Ramayana is touted to be the biggest Indian movie to date.

While Nitesh Tiwari edits the film, several reports stating Ranbir Kapoor’s fees for the movie have been making the rounds on the internet.

According to a Filmfare report, Ranbir Kapoor, who is portraying Lord Ram in the much-anticipated two-part Ramayana, has emerged as the top earner among the cast. He’s reportedly charging a massive ₹75 crore for each part, raking in a total of ₹150 crore for the entire project.

Sai Pallavi, who is playing Sita, has also significantly raised her fee and is reportedly earning ₹6 crore per instalment, taking her total pay to ₹12 crore.

The reactions

While some users said that Ranbir deserves his fees, others disagreed with the reports.

One ussr commented, “All for a porcelain doll , uncanny valley , old looking overly smoothened face. There r better suited actors , who could be casted in lesser budget . Anyway ramayana will run due to brand Ramayan & how well the film is made & The wom after release.. VickyKaushal , unnimukundan vijaydevarakonda , MaheshBabu , abhayverma , RamCharan , devmohan , nagashaurya , dheekshithshetty , ranveersingh ..etc would make for a lower salary cost of actor and a real good looking charismatic handsome Ram . Now we gonna have old looking Ram with droopy eyes ..yikes.”

Another user commented, “Ranbir 75 crore lo ya 100 crore. They have to get this movie right else they are doomed!! People watched the intro teaser also with less expectations and now after watching the teaser, the expectation have sky rocketed. Plus we have realised that there are just too many big ppl associated with this one.. sabki izzat is at stake.. be it a company that was won academy awards, nitesh tiwari, ranbir, yash, sai pallavi, hans zimmer, ar rahman.. if they give chutney in the end …it’s gonna be highly embarrassing Even for India in-fact, now that they have also mentioned our truth our history as the tagline .. that’s a very bold step.”

One user reacted, “I mean somewhat deserved it if hes not taking profit based as ANIMAL made nearly 1k CR from the box office itself apart from other rights and all and he also charged 70Cr for that as well so 75Cr is around 7-8% of the first part.”

Another user reacted, “Imagine if they spent a fraction of this amount on a good VFX. And then they wonder why indian movies don't do well after a big budget allocation, STOP giving all of it to the actors!!
