New Delhi: Fans of the popular Prime Video series Panchayat can look forward to its fifth season, which is scheduled to premiere in 2026.

The show, crafted by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar, follows the journey of Abhishek Tripathi (played by Jitendra Kumar), an engineering graduate who reluctantly takes on the role of secretary at a panchayat office in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh.

The fourth season, which debuted on June 24, has achieved record-breaking viewership, as highlighted in a recent press statement.

The production team has officially announced that the fifth season is currently in the works.

Manish Menghani, director and head of content licensing at Prime Video India, expressed his excitement about the overwhelming response to Season 4, stating, "The series has reached new heights and set standards for genuine storytelling."

He added, "With its touching narrative and relatable characters, Panchayat has become a global sensation, resonating with audiences far and wide. Produced by The Viral Fever, the series is penned by Chandan Kumar and directed by Akshat Vijaywargiya and Deepak Kumar Mishra.

The cast includes notable actors such as Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, Ashok Pathak, and Pankaj Jha.
