MS Dhoni: The Captain Cool Turns 44

Former Indian cricket team captain, known as Captain Cool, MS Dhoni is celebrating his 44th birthday on July 7. Born in 1981 in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand), Dhoni is regarded as one of the greatest captains in cricket history. He stepped away from international cricket in 2020 but continues to play in the IPL, where he captained the team last season in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad.


Early Life and Career

Dhoni's father, Pan Singh, and mother, Devaki Devi, raised him as the youngest among his siblings. He completed his schooling at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, where he initially learned to play football as a goalkeeper. Following his coach's advice, he transitioned to cricket. From 2001 to 2003, Dhoni also worked as a TTE with Indian Railways.

MS Dhoni's popularity is unmatched in the cricketing world. Whenever he steps onto the field, the atmosphere transforms with his presence. His leadership led India to victory in the T20 World Cup in 2007, igniting a fan frenzy.
