A Dragons' Den star has opened up on an ongoing health battle with a cryptic message, letting fans know that he is undergoing tests. Touker Suleyman, 71, posted on Instagram, letting his 60,000 followers know that he has been attending a clinic to focus on his health.

In the message, the entrepreneur wrote: "At the moment, my main focus will be on my health and well-being. Am going through lots of tests at a longevity clinic which I will tell you more about in the near future. But I realise now, that prevention is better than cure. Once I have finished my tests I will give you an insight on the clinic, and what amazing work and insights they give you on your present health, and what to do for the future." Touker signed off the post with the hashtag "#toukertime". Some of the star's followers were quick to wish him well.

"Health is wealth. I hope you are well Mr Suleyman," one wrote, while another added: "Most important thing is health for you and the people around you. All the best to you and be good to yourself."

A third penned: "You looking a picture of good health - nevertheless prevention is a must so the tests peace of mind and report that all is minty good with you."

In the past, Touker admitted that he was told he was "just hours from death". The confession came as he revealed he turned down a stint on Strictly Come Dancing after a health scare.

He explained: "I was asked [to be on Strictly] last year, and I said I'm not fit because I was very ill a few years ago. So I declined the offer this year." He added: "I love dancing. But I just know that first of all time is valuable to me, and I have businesses to run."

In another interview with The Telegraph, he explained just how ill he had been, saying: "In 2019 I had pneumonia and was given 24 hours to live. That was in April. In August I had another illness and was in intensive care and virtually died.

"So I have learnt the value of health. You cannot buy good health. That's where you put things into focus and you realise that it's not all about money. It's about looking after your health, looking after your family, looking after your friends. That's what's important."
