India Vehicle Sales June 2025: In the first half of this year, the electric vehicle industry is getting fast. The month of June saw an increase of 2.5 percent on an annual basis in retail sales of passenger vehicles, while the overall automobile sales led to a good increase of 5 percent between the ongoing clouds of uncertainty in the backdrop of the previous year’s high base and the rare earth crisis and American tariffs. Electric passenger vehicles (E-PV) segments are also moving towards creating a new record of their sales this year.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) President CS Vigneshwar said on Monday, “The previous month was better than expected, as we were expecting a little less growth. It could move forward.
Six companies fall in sales
The sales of top six companies, including Hyundai Motor (decline of 2 percent) and Tata Motors (8 percent fall), saw a decline in sales. Maruti Suzuki India, the leading market company, saw a slight increase of 0.5 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra over 11 percent during the month under review, more than 15 percent in Toyota Kirloskar Motor and about 7 percent in Kia India.
Khandwar, each category increased, with 5 percent in two -wheelers, 6 percent in three -wheelers, 9 percent in tractors, and 7 percent in commercial vehicles, while passenger vehicles increased by 2.5 percent.
According to the latest data (July 6, 2025) of the vehicle, the total retail sales of electric cars, SUVs and MPVs are at 74,539 units, which is 53% higher than the previous year (48,789 units in the first half of 2024). This is 75% of the total sales of the E-PV industry for the year 2024 units. Until the production in the second half of this year is interrupted due to delay in the supply of rare earth magnets, the E-PV industry should reach more than 150,000 units in the year 2025.
