ICC New CEO: Sanjog Gupta has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Sanjog is a highly respected person in global media and entertainment and sports ecosystems and has joined the ICC with cross-functional experience of over two decades. He has become the seventh CEO of the ICC and is associated with JISTAR, where he was CEO – Sports and Live Experience.

On the appointment of Sanjog, ICC Chairman Jai Shah said, “I am happy to announce that Sanjog Gupta has been appointed as the CEO of the ICC. Sanjog has a widespread experience of sports strategy and commercialization, which will be invaluable for ICC.” He added, “The global games as well as his deep understanding of the media and entertainment scenario, the attitude of cricket fans and his passion for technology will prove to be necessary in our ambition to pursue the game in the coming years. Our goal is to move beyond traditional boundaries and establish cricket as a regular game in Olympics, to expand its main markets and its main markets to expand its roots.”

ICC chairman said, “We considered many extraordinary candidates for this post, but the nomination committee unanimously recommended Sanjog. Director of ICC Board is eager to work closely with him, and I want to welcome him on behalf of everyone in ICC.” Sanjogs will start their new role on 7 July and are eager to continue the recent development of cricket worldwide.

Sanjog started his career as a journalist and joined Star India (now Geostar) in 2010 and in the last few years he played several leadership roles in content, programming and strategy. He became the head of sports in Disney and Star India in 2020 and played an important role in increasing sports portfolio, including multilingual, digital-first and women-focused coverage. He was appointed as CEO of Geostar Sports in November 2024. Now he will take over the responsibility of ICC.
