Aadhar update new rule 2025:Aadhaar card has become such a document in today’s time, which is not only a proof of identity, but also the basis of many government and non-government works. Whether it is to open a bank account, take advantage of government schemes or any other important work, without Aadhaar, the matter seems incomplete.

In such a situation, it is very important to keep the Aadhaar card updated from time to time. Earlier, Aadhaar Seva centers had to go round for this, but now the good news is that from November 2025 you will be able to update your Aadhaar card information from home. This facility will not only save time, but is also a big step towards Digital India.

UIDAI’s new initiative

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to further simplify the online update process for Aadhaar card holders. Through this new facility, the goal is to make digital Aadhaar services more accessible.

The aim of UIDAI is to update his information without any hassle and the digital platform should be used more and more. This step will also provide relief to those who live in far-flung areas and have difficulty in reaching the Aadhaar service center.

What information will you be able to update?

The MYADHAAR portal already allowed base holders to update basic information like name, address, gender and date of birth. But now this realm is being further enhanced from November 2025. Now you will be able to improve small changes in the spelling of the name, such as typing mistakes.

The process of updating the date of birth will also be made more flexible than before, so that the necessary changes can be made easily. Apart from this, information of family members, such as father, husband or wife’s name, will now be updated online. The facility to update mobile number and email address will also be available online soon, which was still limited to Aadhaar service centers.

Method of updating Aadhaar sitting at home

To update the Aadhaar card information, you have to go to the Myadhaar portal. After login, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. After verifying OTP, you have to upload the necessary documents. After this, the system of UIDAI will verify your information.

If there is a need for major changes in the name or date of birth, you may have to go through the process of video verification. After the completion of the entire process, you will be able to download the copy of the updated Digital Aadhaar card. Usually this process can take 3 to 5 days.
