Patanjali has launched Dant Kanti Gandusha Oil Pulling, a product rooted in Ayurveda. Baba Ramdev described it as a harmonious blend of tradition and science, while Acharya Balkrishna called it a natural solution to dental problems.

Reviving an Ancient Ayurvedic Practice

In a significant development, Patanjali introduced Dant Kanti Gandusha Oil Pulling, based on the Gandusha method mentioned in classical Ayurvedic texts. In Ayurveda, this practice is considered an integral part of Dinacharya (daily routine). Patanjali stated that this launch is not just about unveiling a product but marks a historic effort to revive a lost daily tradition of Ayurveda.

After the launch, Baba Ramdev said, "This initiative by Patanjali is a new milestone in the field of yoga and Ayurveda. Patanjali is not merely offering treatments, but is presenting a confluence of culture, tradition, and science to the world." He added that people today have forgotten how to operate and cooperate with their own bodies. Through yoga and Ayurveda, Patanjali is working to educate the masses on this. He said the dental product reaffirms that India’s ancient Sanatan knowledge is just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.

Effective for Those Suffering from Dental Problems: Balkrishna

Acharya Balkrishna said, "This product is the result of three years of tireless effort and dedication by scientists at our Patanjali Research Institute. Dant Kanti Gandusha Oil Pulling is not just a daily practice, it is a medical science that addresses modern-day needs." He explained that core Ayurvedic texts like Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita describe Gandusha as a vital oral health procedure. In today’s world, where dental issues are widespread, Dant Kanti Gandusha Oil Pulling offers a natural, safe, and effective solution. It is the latest and most innovative product in the Dant Kanti range.

He further elaborated that the formulation includes Tumburu oil, which strengthens teeth and gums; clove oil, which provides relief from toothache; peppermint oil, which eliminates bad breath; eucalyptus oil, rich in antibacterial properties that inhibit bacterial growth; and tulsi oil, which, being an antimicrobial, protects teeth from decay and infections. Acharya Balkrishna said that a full range of evidence-based dental products will soon be made available to the public to help bring back Ayurveda’s golden glory.

A Powerful Aid in Treating Pyorrhea and Other Dental Ailments

On the occasion, Dr. Vishwajit Walia, Secretary of the Indian Dental Association’s Uttarakhand branch, said that Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna have done remarkable work in promoting wellness through yoga and Ayurveda. He said, “Dant Kanti Gandusha Oil Pulling is a research- and evidence-based Ayurvedic medicine that will be extremely beneficial in treating pyorrhea and various dental disorders.” He also highly praised the research initiatives being carried out by the Patanjali Research Foundation.
