UIDAI has released a new list of documents for Aadhaar registration and updates. Now it will be easy to update online with only valid identity, address, date of birth and evidence of relationships.
UIDAI Aadhaar Update Documents: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Government of India, has updated the list of documents to Aadhaar registration and amendment for 2025–26. According to these new guidelines, every citizen is allowed to have only one Aadhaar number. If for some reason a person has more than one Aadhaar number, then only the first biometric -based base will be valid and active.
According to Aadhaar (Enrollment and Update) First Amendments Regulations, 2025 released by UIDAI, the documents are divided into four major categories- identity proof, address evidence, date of birth, proof and proof of family relations.
One of these documents will be valid –
PAN card
Voter ID Card
Driving license
Any government photo identity card
Electricity, water, gas or telephone bill
Bank passbook
Ration card
Documents to government housing scheme
Birth certificate
Passport
SSLC Certificate
Public Distribution System (PDS) Card
MNREGA job card
Parental birth certificate
Aadhaar for children under 5 years of age
Enrollment can be done for children under five years of age under the “Head of Family” method. Additionally, if the child has their own documents, they can also be used. Blue Aadhaar card is issued for children under 5 years of age. Its color is blue, so it is called “blue base”. It does not contain biometric information, only the basic details of the child and the basis of parents are added. It is necessary to update biometrics after the age of 5 years.
If you want to update your Aadhaar card information, then follow the easy steps given below:
