A family of four from Hyderabad was killed in a road accident while they were vacationing in Dallas on Monday. The deceased—Tejaswini, Sri Venkat, and their two young children—were killed when their vehicle collided head-on with a wrong-way mini-truck and burst into flames.

The family, who had been vacationing in the United States, was returning to Dallas after visiting relatives in Atlanta. The accident occurred in Greene County, Texas, where the impact from the oncoming mini-truck instantly engulfed their car in fire, leaving the occupants with fatal burn injuries. Local authorities are now relying on dental and DNA tests to confirm the identities before releasing the bodies to grieving family members.

The tragic Monday crash has cast a harsh light on a troubling trend—road accidents involving Indian nationals in the U.S. have become frequent.

Two Indian Students Killed In New York

In a separate incident confirmed by the Indian Consulate, two Indian students from Cleveland State University—20-year-old Manav Patel and 23-year-old Saurav Prabhakar—lost their lives in a deadly crash in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, New York, on May 10. Prabhakar, who was reportedly at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road, struck a tree, and rammed into a bridge. A third student survived with injuries and is recovering. CCTV footage has been retrieved for investigation.
