A local dhaba from Haryana's Murthal is receiving world wide praise not just for its mouth watering servings but also for the passion this food joint has carried over decades and turning itself into India's one of the iconic food places. Amrik Sukhdev from Murthal also stands in top 100 list of iconic restaurants in the world by Taste Atlas. But how did a truck drivers dinner corner turned into local's favourite?

All About Amrik Sukhdev:

It all started in 1956 when Sardar Prakash Singh started a small food corner in a tent especially to serve simple daal roti to truck drivers. Afterwards, in 1990, his two sons, Amrik and Sukhdev joined the venture and turned the small scaled business into a royal dream. They did not rely on any marketing advertisements but stuck to traditional methods by targeted truck and cab drivers.

Over the years, thousands of truck and cab drivers started pouring which changed the dynamics of Amrik Sukhdev but what remained unchanged was its taste. It is said that the owners do the quality check of the food even today, shows the roots of authenticity.

Amrikh Sukhdev's Turnover

The restaurant has gained nationwide popularity and foodies from all around Haryana, Delhi and other parts visit the place daily. It is said that Amrik Sukhdev serves around 8,000 to 9,000 people everyday, marking its ₹25 lakhs revenue in a day. Media reports suggests that the restaurant manages to earn around ₹25 Cr in a month.

Amrik Sukhdev's inspirational story is getting its voice by the Instagram creator who goes by the username @rockysaggoocapital. He covered the restaurant in his latest video which has already gained 3 million views.
