A heartbreaking accident occurred in Dallas, where a family of four from Hyderabad lost two members in a tragic car crash. The deceased have been identified as Sri Venkat Bejugam, his spouse Tejaswini Cholleti, and their two young children, Siddarth and Mrida Bejugam. This unfortunate event took place on July 5.
The family was enjoying a vacation in the United States and had recently traveled to Atlanta to visit relatives. They were on their way back to Dallas when the collision happened. A mini truck, reportedly traveling in the wrong direction, crashed head-on into their vehicle. Following the impact, the car was engulfed in flames, according to reports.
A disturbing video surfaced online, depicting the aftermath of the crash, showing the vehicle ablaze and the victims' bodies severely burned.
Due to the severity of the fire, authorities could only recover bone fragments for forensic analysis and DNA identification. They are also verifying dental records to confirm the identities of the deceased before returning them to their family. The Indian-origin family resided in Sutton Fields, near Dallas, as reported.
Local law enforcement and federal officials are collaborating to manage the situation, working alongside the Indian Consulate to facilitate the repatriation of the remains to India. Their priority is to ensure that the process is handled with dignity and respect.
