The makers of Hari Hara Veera Mallustarring Pawan Kalyan, have clarified that the titular character is not based on any historical or folk figure. Amid speculation that the role draws from celebrated folk heroes, the team revealed that the character is entirely fictional, conceptualised as a symbolic representation of Hindu deities.
According to sources close to the production, the film’s director AM Jyothi Krishna reworked the original narrative, presenting Veera Mallu as an incarnation combining elements of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. “The title itself, ‘Day’ (Vishnu) and ‘Hara’ (Shiva), captures the thematic essence. The eagle in the film symbolises Garudawhile the Damarukam held by the protagonist reflects Lord Shiva,” a source said.
Earlier directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film underwent changes after Jyothi Krisna took over. Despite the transformation, the core spirit of the narrative remains intact, focusing on a rebel who rises to defend Sanatana Dharma against Mughal oppression.
