Yash Dayal, an Indian cricketer and left-arm fast bowler, has been accused by a woman from Ghaziabad of exploiting her emotionally, mentally and physically over a five-year relationship, allegedly built on the false promise of marriage.

Acting on her complaint, the police have registered an FIR against Yash Dayal under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with s*xual int*rcourse obtained by deceit, including false promises of marriage. The offence is non-bailable and carries a punishment of up to 10 years in prison.

According to the woman, she was in a long-term relationship with Yash Dayal and claimed that he repeatedly had physical relations with her while assuring her that marriage would follow. She also said that Yash Dayal had introduced her to his family who allegedly promised that she would soon become their daughter-in-law. She said that these assurances led her to believe in the relationship and remain committed to it.

The case has attracted public attention online, with many social media users urging restraint and asking that Yash Dayal not be judged before the facts are established through proper legal proceedings.

The Ghaziabad police have begun investigating the matter. They are currently verifying electronic evidence that the woman has submitted as part of her complaint. As part of the legal process, her statement will be officially recorded in front of a magistrate and a medical examination will follow.

Officials involved in the probe have confirmed that no action will be taken until the woman’s court statement is formally documented and reviewed.

Hopefully, the truth will prevail and Yash Dayal won’t be targeted just because he is a celeb.
