A woman managed to find a "secret" coffee shop at Buckingham Palace, but people can't get over the prices of food and drink. Laura-Ann, known as allthatspretty on TikTok, recently alerted people to it on social media, and many have been left stunned.

In the clip, she took people on a tour of the coffee shop and, if her video is anything to go by, it looks pretty special. With amazing views of the grounds, delicate cakes to pick from and ice cream available to enjoy on the terrace - it looks like it could be the perfect day out for anyone looking for a bit of a royal treat.

As well as being able to indulge in coffee and cake, she said you can also take a walk around the palace, which is a really lovely thing for anyone to experience. After all, it's great to learn a little more about the royal family's history.

However, one thing took people by surprise when she showed off the venue - the menu. The price of some of the items available to order left people totally floored.

When she shared a glimpse of the menu, an espresso came in at £2.25 and coffee starts at £3.20, depending on what type you want to order. Sandwiches are priced at £5.50, while an afternoon tea box will set you back £27.50.

The video has been viewed hundreds of times since it was shared, and people were quick to comment too. They had all sorts of thoughts to offer.

One was impressed by the prices, writing: "Those prices look good." Laura-Ann replied to this, saying: "Not bad for Central London in a palace."

Another added: "What a great idea. Such a beautiful experience." A third replied: "I've been on the tour - it's wonderful."

Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Love Buckingham Palace. The disabled access is wonderful. We got a buggy from the front gate and did the garden tour in a buggy - it was amazing."

Laura-Ann admitted it was a lovely day out, and said she could have stayed on the terrace "all day." Many are now keen to try the experience for themselves.

If you didn't know, there is a coffee shop in Buckingham Palace, but it only opens during certain times of the year. It has recently opened its doors again to visitors keen to sample what's on offer this summer.

The website reads: "The Garden Café is situated on the West Terrace of Buckingham Palace, just beyond the exit from the State Rooms. Take a moment to relax and enjoy views over the famous Palace lawn and lake.

"Our seasonal menu celebrates the best of the British summer, offering freshly prepared sandwiches, bagels and salads, iced coffees, summer drinks and strawberries and cream. Highlights include coronation chicken seeded rolls, smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, and our Garden Lunch Box featuring Mediterranean vegetables with a sun-dried tomato and black olive quiche.

"This year's patisserie selection features freshly baked Queen of Puddings, a classic English dessert of lemon and vanilla custard, raspberry jam and delicate burnt meringue, alongside gluten-free chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle cake and much more.

"The Garden Café caters to a wide range of dietary requirements."

The opening times for the Garden Café are as follows:

  • July and August: 10am - 7pm (takeaway only from 7pm - 7.15pm)
  • September: 10am - 6pm (takeaway only from 6pm - 6.15pm)
