American rapper Cardi B took a dramatic entrance at the Fall/Winter 2025-26 Schiaparelli couture show on July 7, but it wasn’t merely her pearl-fringed, bespoke couture gown that dominated the headlines it was the live crow sitting on her arm. The striking look was unveiled on the first day of Paris Haute Couture Week at the Petit Palais, and it drew both applause and disdain online within minutes.
Turns Heads and Raises Eyebrows
Posting a video on Instagram that reads, “With my little friend Crowdi B,” the rapper urged paparazzi to keep their voices down so that they would not frighten the bird. While most fans were praising her creative styling, others criticized using a live bird as a prop for style.
On Reddit and social media sites, there was discomfort among users. “No one could have made her a little robotic crow?” a user asked, while another posted, “There’s no need to use an animal as an accessory her look would’ve been fine without it.” The overall message from critics was apparent: “Animals are not props or fashion accessories.”

Later in the night, Cardi traded her crow friend for a burgundy rhinestone gown by Indian designer Rahul Mishra, with enormous 3D floral motifs.
Star-Studded Event Continues
The Schiaparelli presentation also featured cameos from Dua Lipa and Hunter Schafer, among others. Paris Haute Couture Week continues through July 10, with more fashion moments—but please, with fewer live animals used.
