One person has been killed at Milan Bergamo Airport in Italy after they were reportedly sucked into an aeroplane turbine. All flights at the airport were suspended from 10.20am local time (9.20am BST) until midday after the emergency.

Unconfirmed reports claimed the victim was a 35-year-old man. The plane was reportedly on the taxiway preparing for take off when the grim incident happened.

Airport operator, SACBO, confirmed that an "incident" happened at the airport. A flight tracking service on social media reported at least 19 flights were grounded as a result of the death.
