Shiva Shakti Dutt, a celebrated lyricist, writer, and filmmaker from the Telugu film industry, passed away on the night of July 7 at the age of 92 due to health complications related to aging. He was renowned for his contributions to mythological and poetic music, leaving behind a significant legacy in Telugu cinema.
Dutt was the father of the Academy Award-winning composer M.M. Keeravani and the brother of prominent screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad. He was also the uncle of acclaimed film director S.S. Rajamouli, composer M.M. Srilekha, and singer-composer Kalyani Malik.
As news of his passing spread, condolences flooded in from various sectors of the film industry. Notably, filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli, who is Dutt's nephew, was seen at M.M. Keeravani's home to pay his respects during the final rites.

Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan also shared his condolences, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the news of Shri Siva Shakthi Datta's passing, father of music director Keeravani. I pray for his soul's peace. He held a profound respect for art and literature, making significant contributions to Telugu and Sanskrit lyricism. My heartfelt sympathies go out to Keeravani and his family during this difficult time.”
