Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal today said that the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme is an important step towards providing all health services without spending one money.
Addressing a gathering organized on the occasion of the introduction of the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme here, Kejriwal said that this work should have been done 50 years ago, but unfortunately it has never been on the agenda of those who ruled the country. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party has always focused on providing quality education and health services to people so that they can achieve success in life.
Arvind Kejriwal said that those who claimed to make the country a world guru have deprived the country of these basic facilities till date, due to which the country remained behind. Giving examples of countries like Singapore, Japan, Germany, Kejriwal said that these countries emphasized education and health, that is why they are successful today. He said that this work being done by ‘AAP’ is actually the real work of nation building. An example, he said that Punjab has stood first in terms of education in the National Achievement Survey of the Government of India due to the strict efforts of the state government, while in the year 2017, Punjab was ranked 17th.
Kejriwal said that the state government has written a new chapter in every field like education, health and development. So far, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened in Punjab, which are providing free treatment to all, and 200 more clinics will be dedicated soon. He said that now the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme is being launched in the state, which will be applicable from October 2. After this, camps will be set up for enrollment. Kejriwal said that this scheme will guarantee health services to all citizens and every family will get cashless treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh.
Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the people for this historic day and said that only an honest government thinks about the good of the common man. He said that the Punjab government has not imposed any new tax on the public, but has stopped the theft of public money and those money is being spent on development and public welfare. He said that under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme, Punjab has become the first state in the country where every family will get cashless treatment of up to 10 lakh rupees. Earlier this limit was 5 lakh rupees, which has now been doubled.
Kejriwal said that Punjab has now become the first state in the country, where citizens are getting free healthcare, education, electricity and bus travel. Of great gurus "Sarbat da bhala" Following the message of, the Punjab government has taken steps for the good of all sections of the society. Under this scheme, any citizen – whether it is government employee or pensioner – will be entitled to free healthcare. There is no income limit in this scheme.
Earlier only selected families were eligible to treat up to Rs 5 lakh, but now all the citizens of the state are under this scheme. He informed that health cards will be built at the service centers. Apart from this, cards can also be made through online registration through Aadhaar card or voter card.
Kejriwal said that under the scheme any citizen can get free treatment in any government or listed private hospital. Now no citizen of the state will be deprived of treatment due to financial constraints. He also said that the Punjab government will continue the public interest and development oriented initiatives in the coming time.
