Bihar Monsoon Update:  Monsoon activity is gradually increasing in Bihar. Light to moderate rain activities are being recorded in many parts of the state, while the weather is still dry in some districts. While there is hope of relief from heat in the second week of July, the Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for many districts. Let us know what will be the mood of today’s weather.

How was the weather in the last 24 hours?

Light rain was recorded in some areas of the southern part of the state and one or two districts of North Bihar. The highest rainfall was recorded in Gidhaur of Jamui at 12.2 mm and Chakai at 11.8 mm. Apart from this, sporadic rain was also recorded in districts like Amarpur, Kudra, Banka, Khaira, Sikandra. The maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C in Gopalganj, while the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 25.5°C in Banka.

How will the weather be on July 9?

Today, i.e. on July 9, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour have been predicted in many districts of the north-west and south-east region of Bihar, including Gaya and Nawada. West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran and Siwan districts in north-west Bihar are within the ambit of this forecast, while similar weather activities can also be seen in Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Munger and Khagaria districts in south-east Bihar. The Meteorological Department has advised people living in all these areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions.

On July 10, there is a possibility of thunderstorms along with strong winds in Gaya, Nawada, Jamui and Banka districts of Bihar. The Meteorological Department has advised people in these districts to remain alert and stay in safe places. On July 11, the weather is expected to remain normal in most parts of the state and no special warning has been issued for any district.

Monsoon conditions

Monsoon has not become fully active in the plains of Ganga at present, but the low pressure area arising from the Bay of Bengal is moving towards Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of good rain in the central and southern parts of Bihar in the next 2-3 days.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding lightning and strong winds in many districts including Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, Banka, West Champaran and East Champaran. The department has appealed to the people not to stay in temporary or weak structures and immediately take shelter in safe places in case of lightning. Also, farmers have been advised to postpone agricultural work until the weather becomes completely normal, so that any kind of loss of life and property can be avoided.
