The beloved ‘ Garfield ’ character is making his big return! After last year’s animated hit, a sequel is all set in the works. The theatrical feature, adapted from a newspaper comic strip, is about to return, and along with it, Chris Pratt is all set to reprise his role as well!
Chris Pratt returns as ‘Garfield’
As per reports from Deadline, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor Chris Pratt has signed an exclusive contract for the sequel of last year’s animated cartoon film. He will return as the witty and cunning character of Garfield on screen.
Not much has been confirmed about the film as of now. Producers and studios responsible for the sequel are still searching for a suitable director and writer for the movie. Jim Davis, the original creator of the hit cartoon, will also be involved in the filmmaking process.
About the previous Garfield movie
‘The Garfield Movie’, released last year, managed to become a major hit amongst fans after its release. The film follows Garfield and his owner, Jon Arbuckle, on an adventure after the two get kidnapped by a gang of dogs, and then are rescued by the fat tabby’s father!
The film held a major star-studded cast of voiceover artists, which included but was not limited to Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Samuel L. Jackson , Hannah Winningham, Harvey Guillén, and Snoop Dogg .
