GR Infraprojects Ltd has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, GR Varanasi Kolkata Highway Private Limited, has received the appointed date from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a major infrastructure project under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.
As per the official communication dated July 8, 2025, the appointed date for the project has been set as July 1, 2025. The project involves the construction of a 6-lane Greenfield section of the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Highway in Bihar, covering a stretch from Anarbansalea village to Sagrampur village (Km 151+200 to Km 184+700), totaling 33.50 kilometers. This is being developed as Package-7 under the central highway program.
The contract is valued at ₹1,248.37 crore and will be executed on a Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). The construction timeline is set for 730 days from the appointed date.
This development marks another milestone in GR Infraprojects’ ongoing participation in India’s large-scale infrastructure expansion. The Bharatmala Pariyojana aims to enhance connectivity in key economic corridors, and this project is expected to significantly improve road connectivity in the region.
