In a shocking turn of events, Vedika Shetty, who previously served as the secretary to Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, has been taken into custody for allegedly defrauding the star of ₹77 lakh.
According to the Mumbai Police, Shetty was apprehended by the Juhu Police in connection with a fraud case involving Alia Bhatt. The complaint was lodged by Alia's mother, veteran actress Soni Razdan, a few months ago.
After several months of investigation, the police arrested Shetty in Bengaluru and presented her in court, where she was remanded to police custody until July 10.
The Juhu Police have charged Vedika Prakash Shetty under Sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following the alleged fraud, she reportedly fled.
Shetty is accused of forging Alia's signature and executing fraudulent transactions totaling ₹76.9 lakh over a span of two years.
Reports indicate that Shetty worked as Alia's secretary from 2021 to 2024, during which she managed the actress's financial affairs and scheduling.
As of now, Alia Bhatt has not publicly commented on the situation.
On a different note, Alia is currently engaged in filming her upcoming project titled 'Alpha,' where she portrays a spy, alongside co-star Sharvari.

The teaser for 'Ramayana,' which features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, was released on July 3, showcasing a stunning depiction of the holy trinity and the lead characters from the epic.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, 'Ramayana' is set for a global release, with Part 1 scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following in Diwali 2027.
