Recently, a 45 -year -old man married a 6 -year -old girl in the Helmand state of Afghanistan. Whose photo became very viral on social media. This spread a lot of anger among the people of the area. According to Afghan media, both were married in Marjah district. Later, on receiving information, the girl's father and groom were arrested. However, no written complaint against the accused has been received yet. As the case increased, the Taliban stopped the person from taking the girl home. Said that the girl can go to her husband's house at the age of 9.

Rupees instead of marriage

The United Nations woman had reported in a report in 2024 that in Afghanistan, there has been a 25 percent increase in child marriage and the rate of child has an increase of 45 percent. According to UNICEF, the bride in the world is in Afghanistan. Afghanistan media said that the accused has already been married. For child marriage, the accused has given money to the girl's family members.

The warrant has been left against two Taliban leaders

In Afghanistan, it is not the first time a case of misbehavior or misconduct of women. Recently, the International Crime Court has issued an arrest warrant against 2 Taliban leaders. Those leaders have been accused of crime against humanity for misbehaving with women and girls. The court said that Habatullah Akhundzada and Chief Justice Abdul Hakim Haqqani are responsible for the atrocities of women and girls in Afghanistan.

What does the law say?

Currently there is no minimum legal age for girls' marriage in Afghanistan. The Taliban government has not restored the previous law, in which the legal age of girls' marriage is 16 years. Instead, marriage in Afghanistan is taking place according to Islamic law.
