Scottish crime boss Steven Lyons has been pictured for the first time after allegedly spending thousands of pounds changing his appearance.

Lyons, 44, has had fillers, Botox and dental treatment, the new snaps - the first pictures of him in a decade - show. The snaps also show his friend Ross Monaghan, who was shot dead alongside Eddie Lyons Jnr in a bar in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol in Spain on May 31, while they attended a festive party in the United Arab Emirates in December.

In 2006, the head of the Lyons crime gang fled Scotland for Spain after being shot twice - he then moved to Dubai. As photos of him emerged, a source said he has had extensive facial treatments.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the source said: "Steven has made millions since he fled Scotland, albeit he recently lost a couple of large consignments. So getting extensive cosmetic work done is no issue.

"His cheeks have very noticeably been pumped full of filler. He's had regular Botox on his forehead and around his eyes. And his teeth would give Katie Price's a run for their money."

It is estimated that a single treatment of cheek fillers can cost around £1,000 in the UAE, while forehead Botox costs about £200 per session. The treatment needs to be continued every six months to maintain the look. Dental work runs into thousands of pounds depending on the nature of the treatment.

Before these photos emerged, the last widely circulated image of Steven was taken in 2008. In one of the new images, Lyons can be seen standing with two associates. In the photo, he appears to be protecting his leg which was blasted during an assassination bid in 2006.

The source said: "Steven's leg has not been the same since he was shot. It was broken and he was in plaster for 12 weeks. He struggles to walk comfortably and has to go downstairs in a weird way." Another image shows Lyons smiling while leaning over a friend for a selfie. The pal also posed in another photo with Monaghan.

Lyons, the son of former boss Eddie Lyons Snr, is understood to still be the head of the Lyons family despite fleeing Scotland almost two decades ago, according to the Record. The publication also reported that Lyons didn't attend the funeral of Monaghan, 43, and his brother last week over fears he would be targeted by hitmen.

The insider said: "Eyebrows have been raised about Steven not going to the funeral of his own brother and best pal. He didn't return for his sister's either back in 2020 so it wasn't a huge surprise though. There was a livestream link so he watched it on that. With everything that's been going on and the warning issued it was too big of a risk for him to return."
