Directed by Kayoze Irani, the film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vijay Menon – a man torn between the love of a father and the duty of a soldier, Kajol as Meher – a mother who fights all odds to keep her family intact, and Ibrahim Ali Khan as Harman – a vulnerable young man stuck at a crossroads.
Sharing his experience in a press note, Ibrahim Ali said, “Sarzameen is an emotional milestone that I will always carry with me. It challenged me in ways I never imagined, not just as an actor, but as a person as well. My character is torn between love, loyalty, and truth, and moving through that emotional realm was the most intense learning experience for me. Watching Kajol ma’am and Prithviraj sir in action was a priceless experience for me. They are so graceful and effortless in their craft, and that inspired me to give my best. Kayoze also inspired me in every way—he demanded depth, stillness, and sensitivity. I have put my heart and soul into Sarzameen and I hope the audience loves the film. Stories like Sarzameen deserve to be seen and felt by everyone, everywhere.”
Sarzameen is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions. It will be available on JioHotstar on July 25.
