Vishnu Manchu 's mythological action drama 'Kannappa' was released on June 27 and continues its theatrical run with steady but modest collections. After creating buzz with its high-profile cast and initial hype, the film has seen a notable drop but remains consistent in its earnings during weekdays.
Kannappa Movie Review
As per the latest report from trade tracker Sacnilk, 'Kannappa' earned an estimated Rs 13 lakh on Day 13, i.e., Wednesday. Despite the dip from its opening numbers, the film seems to be holding on, especially in the Telugu-speaking regions.
The occupancy figures across Telugu theatres on Day 13 suggest a slow but stable performance. The film recorded an overall 13.21% occupancy on Wednesday, with morning shows at 12.68%, afternoon shows at 13.74%, evening shows at 12.06%, and night shows slightly picking up at 14.34%.
Looking at the second weekend trends, 'Kannappa' collected Rs 45 lakh on Day 8, followed by a slight recovery on Day 9 with Rs 60 lakh. However, the weekdays saw a gradual fall, with Day 12 bringing in Rs 14 lakh, followed by Rs 13 lakh on Day 13. Despite these numbers not being record-breaking, the film seems to have secured a steady stream of viewers across regions.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, 'Kannappa' is a devotional tale of Thinnadu, a fearless tribal hunter whose unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva transforms him into a revered saint.
'Kannappa' includes a massive ensemble cast, including brief roles of Prabhas, Akshay Kumar , Kajal Aggarwal, and Mohanlal. Other cast members include veteran actors like Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Preity Mukhundhan, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmaji, and Brahmanandam.
The film's grand scale, elaborate sets, and emotional score by Stephen Devasi have been widely appreciated, even as the film struggled to sustain its initial box office surge.

Etimes review for the film reads, "Kannappa scores high on visual and musical impact. Sheldon Chau's cinematography captures the beauty of forested landscapes and celestial moments with finesse, giving the film a rich visual texture. Some of the VFX elements fall short of the film's ambition, but the overall sincerity of the production shines through."
