Anurag Basu’s musical romantic drama Metro… In Dino maintains its steady run at the Indian box office. Starring an impressive cast of actors Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta the film has collected Rs 2.25 crore on its opening Wednesday, taking its 6-day total to Rs 24.50 crore, reports Sacnilk.com.

The movie will reach the Rs 25 crore mark at the end of its first week. Although its figures might seem small against recent blockbusters, it’s a significant feat for a movie that came out with minimal pre-release hype and tough competition from Jurassic World: Rebirth, featuring Scarlett Johansson. Metro… In Dino began on Rs 3.5 crore and wrapped up its opening weekend at Rs 16.17 crore, indicating good audience interest.

Upcoming Releases Can Affect Collections
The momentum of the film may be challenged this weekend with three big releases: Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan (featuring Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey), Maalik (with RajKummar Rao), and the Hollywood blockbuster Superman (starring David Corenswet).

A Contemporary Retelling of Urban Love
Metro… In Dino weaves together interconnected tales of city couples trying to make sense of love, loss, and life in vibrant metro cities. A spiritual follow-up to Basu’s 2007 blockbuster Life… In A Metro, this film delves into changing relationships of the contemporary world. Konkona Sen Sharma returns in a role type from the original, and Pankaj Tripathi takes on a character inspired by Irrfan Khan’s iconic Monty.

Audiences have appreciated the film’s emotional depth, engaging performances, and Pritam’s melodious soundtrack, with Zamaana Lage, Aur Mohabbat Kitni Karoon, and Dil Ka Kya being standouts.

Anurag Basu’s Next targets Diwali Release
After Metro… In Dino, Basu’s next will be an untitled musical romance featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela that is coming out this Diwali, opposing Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror-comedy Thama.
