Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the initiation of Operation Kaalnemi against those impersonating saints and committing fraud. CM Dhami stated that those exploiting Sanatan Dharma for deceit and manipulating people’s faith will not be spared.
In recent times, several cases have emerged in the state where antisocial elements, disguising themselves as saints, have been found cheating people — especially women. In view of these incidents, the Chief Minister has instructed authorities to begin Operation Kaalnemi against such individuals.
He emphasized that such actions not only hurt the religious sentiments of people but also damage social harmony and the image of Sanatan Dharma. Strict action will be taken against anyone — regardless of religion — found involved in such acts.
CM Dhami said that just as the demon Kaalnemi once tried to deceive by taking the form of a saint, today too many such “Kaalnemis” are active in society — committing crimes under religious disguise. He affirmed that the state government is fully committed to safeguarding public sentiments, preserving the dignity of Sanatan culture, and maintaining social harmony. No one spreading deceit in the name of faith will be spared under any circumstance.
"Our state is the land of gods (Devbhoomi). The people here are innocent and simple by nature. Unfortunately, some antisocial elements are taking advantage of this, disguising themselves as saints to deceive people. The police and administration have been instructed to identify such elements and initiate Operation Kaalnemi to arrest them," CM Dhami said.
