The Delhi University UG 2025 admission process is at its peak. The second phase of UG admission has started. Students will be able to register and select college courses until July 14. At the same time, the first list for admission will be released on July 19. Overall, this time the DU admission process will be completed in July, given that DU has announced to start a new session from August 1. That is, as soon as some students go to college on August 1, their dream of admission to DU will be fulfilled, while some students will be disappointed. If you understand, even after passing the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025, about 75 percent of the students who register for DU admission will not be able to get admission in DU. Why is this so? Let's understand this in detail.

Mathematics of seats in DU

Before detailing this, let us understand the mathematics of graduation seats in DU. DU has invited applications for admission in 79 graduation programs run in its 69 colleges. Along with this, applications have also been invited for admission in 186 BA programs. The total number of seats in all these colleges of DU, including all the graduation programs, is 71,624.

The number of applications in DU can reach 3 lakhs.

The application process for DU UG admission is still going on. For example, the first phase of the application process started on June 17, under which the students were given the facility of registration. The second phase of DU admission is to be completed from 8 to 14 July. In this phase, the students who have registered will be given the option to choose the course and college. However, the students who have not registered can also fill the option of choosing the course and college along with registration in the second phase. In such a situation, it is believed that the number of students applying to DU this year can reach 3 lakhs. Because till June 8, 2.65 lakh students had registered themselves for admission in DU UG.

So, 2.30 lakh students will not get admission.

Admission to DU is the dream of every student. In this episode, like every year, this time also the number of applications received for UG admission is expected to reach 3 lakh, but this time also about 2.30 lakh students will not get admission in DU. These will be those students who have passed CUET UG 2025 and after that they would have also completed the registration formalities for DU admission. Due to only about 71 thousand UG seats in DU, 75 percent of the students who pass CUET UG 2025 and register for admission will not get admission in DU.
