Delhi government kept in mind the convenience and safety of women ‘Friend Smart CardA digital travel pass called ‘has been launched. This card will allow women and transgender individuals to travel at DTC and cluster buses without any charges. This new card National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) The system has been brought under the system, which will replace the pink paper ticket being used so far.
Chief Minister’s announcement: Now arrangement will be transparent
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said during the budget speech, “There was a possibility of corruption in the old ticket system, but now the journey through Saheli smart card will be more transparent and safe.” There are currently 44 DTC depots (one in Noida) in Delhi and a total of 3,266 buses are running, including 1,950 electric and 1,694 CNG buses. The government is preparing to implement this scheme from August 15.
Documents required for card
The following documents are mandatory to apply for Saheli Smart Card:
- Aadhar card
- PAN card
- Delhi’s residence certificate
- Passport Size Photo
Other KYC documents sought by the bank
Once the KYC process is completed, the bank will send the card to the applicant’s address via post. The government has decided not to issue cards by DTC with the aim of keeping this process completely digital and corruption-free.
How to apply?
- It is mandatory for the applicant to be a resident of Delhi.
- The age should be 12 years or more.
- Registration will have to be done online by visiting the official website of DTC.
- After that, after selecting a bank, the KYC process will have to be completed by going to its nearest branch.
