Yameen Vikat, Thakurdwara. The rapid growing of drugs in Thakurdwara and its surrounding rural areas has become a serious concern for the society. This black business is not only affecting the local community, but is also pushing the youth called the future of the country towards darkness. The youth trapped in drug addiction are not only ruining their lives, but are also becoming a threat to the society. According to sources, this illegal trade is flourishing on a large scale in the outskirts of the city, where big businessmen are operating this business without any fear.

Call of social workers, passive administration

Many social workers and conscious citizens have repeatedly raised this issue to the administration. From the Chief Minister’s portal to senior officials, complaints have been filed several times, but the lack of concrete action is clearly visible. Social workers say that only showy action is taken by the administration, in which the matter is covered by catching small dealers. Large fish, which are the real kingpin of this black business, are always out of the grip of the law. If sources are to be believed, these traders have the protection of some influential people, due to which the local people are not able to raise their voice due to fear.

Drug addiction and increasing thieves

Drug addiction is now facing social security. Youth addicted to drugs are resorting to small thieves to fulfill their addiction. In recent times, many such complaints have been registered in Kotwali, but most cases are suppressed without any serious action. The drug addicts have become so high that they not only quarrel with each other, but also get entangled with the local people. The common citizen maintains distance from them due to fear and understanding, but this situation has become a canker for the society.

In the name of action

Social workers say that the police action to prevent this illegal business of drugs is extremely superficial and inadequate. Occasionally, showy action is taken by recovering a little drug from small level dealers, but the law does not reach the big businessmen. Experts believe that the eradication of this social evil is impossible until the mastermind of this business is caught. Local people want the administration and police to take strict and effective steps in this direction, so that the future of the youth can be saved.

A step towards the solution

Society and administration need to work together to deal with this problem. Awareness campaign, establishment of de -addiction centers, and strict legal action can be important steps in this direction. The local community will also have to unite and raise voice against this evil. If this black business is not controlled in time, it can affect the whole society.
