WWE Hall of Famer and BJP leader Dalip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali, on Sunday voiced his sorrow and outrage over the tragic death of state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav in Gurugram, who was killed by her own father.

Describing the incident as a disturbing reflection of societal mindset, Khali questioned how such tragedies can take place in a nation that champions the slogan "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao."

All a matter of mentality, says Khali

"This is an unfortunate incident that a man killed his own daughter. How will we work towards our motto of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' if we go on killing our daughters? We cannot become a vishwaguru till we support our daughters," Khali said while speaking to news agency ANI.

"Even I have a daughter. Daughters are no less than sons, and it is all a matter of mentality, which some people still need to change. Everyone should support their daughters and motivate them to pursue sports," he added.

Radha Yadav, who had represented Haryana at the state level, was fatally shot at her family’s residence in Sushant Lok-II, Gurugram.

According to police reports, her father, Deepak Yadav, allegedly fired at least five rounds at her while she was preparing food in the kitchen located on the first floor.

Deepak Yadav, 49, was taken into custody shortly after the incident and, according to police, has confessed to committing the crime.

Investigators uncovered a WhatsApp conversation between Radhika and her coach, Ajay Yadav, in which she allegedly expressed a strong desire to leave home under any circumstances and shared plans to move abroad—suggesting a deep-rooted family conflict.

Police further clarified that Radhika did not own a tennis academy but was actively involved in coaching young players by renting courts at various venues—something her father reportedly disapproved of.
