Patna: Youths who have completed 18 years of age in Bihar can now easily get a new voter ID card online sitting at home. The Election Commission has made the process of making voter cards very simple and digital. This not only saves time, but can also apply for voter card without any hassle.

In order to get a voter ID card, the applicant must be a citizen of India and a permanent address in Bihar. Also, he should be at least 18 years old. Documents required for application such as identity card, address proof, age proof and passport size photo will have to be prepared in JPG, JPEG or PDF format.

To apply online, you have to visit the official website of the Voter Commission. An account has to be made on the website and filling ‘Form 6’, in which the person’s name, address, Aadhaar number and other information have to be given. After uploading the document, submit the form and keep the reference number available.

After the application is accepted, the verification of the voter card is done. On completion of verification, first digital voter card is issued and then in a few days the physical card is also sent by post to the applicant’s house. Voter ID card is not only necessary for voting, but it is also necessary for many government services and documents in the form of identity cards. Therefore, all qualified citizens should make it.
