Soon Bengaluru would be getting yet another high-speed rail boost with the introduction of the Bengaluru–Shivamogga Vande Bharat Express.
Soon Launch of Vande Bharat Express on Bengaluru -Shivamogga Route
This latest addition is aimed at strengthening train connectivity which will be connecting the capital and Central Karnataka.
Indian Railways is expecting this upcoming service to greatly benefit students, professionals, and business travelers commuting between the two cities.
Regarding this, the announcement came from Bengaluru Central MP P C Mohan, who announced On social media platform x, saying, “Shivamogga – Bengaluru Vande Bharath soon.”
So far, they have not finalized the launch date and timetable but the introduction of this new service has been long-awaited by residents of Shivamogga which is located about 300 kilometers from Bengaluru.
It appears that the people of Shivamogga have been constantly demanding for a Vande Bharat connection to Bengaluru.
Promising Reliable and Comfortable Travel
This is going to be a good addition especially after the city saw infrastructure upgrades such as the inauguration of Shivamogga Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2023.
With this latest initiative, they are expecting the addition of Vande Bharat service will most likely complement the air connectivity.
This would also offer a reliable and comfortable rail alternative for frequent travelers.
This would become Karnataka’s 12th Vande Bharat Express after getting operational on the Shivamogga route, further expanding the state’s premium rail network.
Bengaluru will be directly connected by Vande bharat trains to seven major cities including Mysuru, Chennai, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Dharwad, Coimbatore, and Belagavi after this addition.
The high-speed trains are designed to drastically reduce travel time while enhancing passenger comfort with modern amenities.
Earlier, the state witnessed the launch of the Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express, which operates on a convenient day-return model during May this year.
Reportedly, Indian Railways has scheduled this train to depart Belagavi early in the morning, reach Bengaluru by noon, and make its return journey in the afternoon, arriving back by night.
So far Vande Bharat trains are playing a pivotal role in reshaping public transport across Karnataka and this new addition on Shivamogga route will be serving the same purpose.
