An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa on Wednesday made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport, reportedly due to engine failure. According to sources, the aircraft landed at 9.42 pm. The pilot had raised an alarm at 9.25 pm.

Reacting to the incident, an IndiGo spokesperson said that a technical snag was detected on flight 6E 6271 while flying from Delhi to Manohar International Airport, Goa. The aircraft further said that following procedures, the aircraft was diverted and landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai.

"While the aircraft will undergo necessary checks and maintenance before resuming operations, an alternative aircraft has been arranged for completing the journey, which will depart shortly with the customers," the spokesperson further added.
