WBSSC Teacher Recruitment 2025: There is relief news for the candidates preparing to become teachers in government schools in West Bengal. West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has extended the last date for application for recruitment to Assistant Teacher posts under Second State Level Selection Test (2nd SLST). Now, candidates can apply till 21 July 2025. Earlier this deadline was 16 July.

Appointment will be made on 35,726 posts

According to the notification issued by WBSSC, a total of 35,726 teachers will be appointed under this recruitment drive. This includes 23,212 posts for class 9th-10th and 12,514 posts for class 11th-12th. This appointment will be made in government and aided schools of the state.

Qualification and Age Limit

Candidates applying for class 9th-10th should have a graduation or post-graduation degree with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed/B.Sc.Ed degree from a recognized university. At the same time, master's degree and B.Ed or equivalent degree is mandatory for class 11th-12th.

Age Limit: Minimum age should be 21 years and maximum 40 years as on 1 January 2025. Age relaxation will be given to reserved categories as per rules.

Application fee and process

Application fee has been fixed at Rs 500 for General, OBC, EWS and other state candidates and Rs 200 for SC, ST, PH category. Fee can be paid both online or offline.
