The Gujarat High Court has taken a tough stand on traffic problems like driving and illegal parking in the wrong direction. Giving strict instructions to the state government and traffic police, the court has directed to seize vehicles driving in the wrong direction and take strict action against illegal parking. The court clearly stated that such violations are increasing accidents and the deaths of innocent people are taking place. Supahia and Justice RT Vachani’s bench targeted the state government, saying, “We are concerned about the safety of citizens. Make appropriate plans, work effectively and present the results.” The court described the problem of driving in the wrong direction as serious, especially the dangers of running big vehicles like SUVs in the wrong direction on roads like Science City. While sharing his personal experience, Justice Supahiya said, “Some roads have so many vehicles in the wrong direction that despite being on the right path, we feel that we are on the wrong path!” On illegal parking, anger on the illegal parking, we also lashed out at the government on the problem of illegal parking. Citing the situation from Judge Bungalow Road to the dish intersection, the court said that despite the instructions given earlier, the problem remains the same. The court asked the state government to take immediate action on the issue. The controlled court also directed to strictly follow the rules prohibiting the use of luxury buses and heavy vehicles during the busy time in Ahmedabad. Such vehicles are becoming the main cause of traffic jams, which are necessary to control. The demand for the weekly report has now decided to hear the matter every Wednesday and sought a weekly report from the government. This report will have to give details of the action taken against the violation of traffic rules. Following this direction of the appeal to the citizens, the traffic police have shown their readiness to drive in the wrong direction and take strict action against illegal parking. There is an appeal to citizens to follow traffic rules and promote safe driving.
