Chennai: Popular Tamil actor and passionate racer Ajith Kumar was involved in a dramatic accident during the second race of the GT4 European Series held in Italy this weekend. The incident occurred when a car ahead of him suddenly stopped across the track, leaving no room for avoidance. Ajith’s racing machine suffered significant front-end damage in the high-speed collision, forcing him to retire from the competition.

Eyewitnesses at the Misano World Circuit reported the frightening moment when Ajith’s car plowed into the stationary vehicle. Despite the violent impact, the 53-year-old actor emerged unscathed and was seen walking away from the wreckage under his own power. Race officials confirmed that Ajith declined medical attention after the crash, demonstrating his characteristic resilience.

This racing incident comes during a busy period for the actor, following the mixed reception of his recent film “Vidamuyalchi” and the reported ₹200 crore success of “Good Bad Ugly.” Known for his dedication to motorsports, Ajith has been actively participating in racing events between film projects. His next cinematic venture with director Adhik Ravichandran is scheduled to begin production in October.

The motorsports community has praised Ajith’s handling of the dangerous situation, with fellow racers expressing relief at his safe exit from the wrecked vehicle.

This marks another chapter in Ajith’s long-standing racing career, which has seen both triumphs and challenges on tracks across the world. The actor is expected to return to racing action after evaluating the damage to his competition vehicle.
