The tides have turned in the newest season of Panchayat Season 4. The fourth season of the Amazon Prime Video series, created by The Viral Fever (TVF), follows the tense and closely fought village election between Manju Devi (Neena Gupta) and Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar).

Actor Durgesh Kumar, who plays Kranti's husband Bhushan, talked about the election celebration scene, which went viral. In an interview, he shared the origins of the dance, which he had seen in his village in Bihar when he was young.
Durgesh Kumar on viral Panchayat dance
Binod (Ashok Pathak), Bhushan and the rest of Kranti Devi's supporters celebrate her unexpected victory, wearing dark sunglasses and garlands as they break into dance. Durgesh shared that the viral dance step was improvised. During the shoot, the only instruction to the actors was, dance as if you've won. He told the Unfolding Talents podcast, "No choreography, no coach. No other dialogue of mine has gone viral. As an actor, I felt something should go viral once."

He recalled a dance from his younger days. "I tried it in other places, but it didn't work. A rickshaw driver's son, who was around my age, had seen Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa film 17 times. During Saraswati Puja, my brother said, Do that step," Durgesh explained how he quickly came up with those steps.

On election victory in Panchayat Season 4
Durgesh, who became a main character in the show from Season 3, revealed that he knew Bhushan was going to be the victor over Manju Devi. He said, "It's a real nail-biter; it's not that he wins very easily. First season mein maine halki se awaaz uthai thi... now in the fourth season, how psychologically the villagers come in my support, I worked very hard in the story. So the result was hard-earned, which I liked, as it makes me into a strong character from a crowd actor."
The gang will be back for more shenanigans in Phulera. Amazon Prime Video has announced that the show has been renewed for Season 5.
