Kuldeep Yadav may play for India in the fourth Test against England in Manchester, starting July 23. This is due to Nitish Kumar Reddy’s injury, which will keep him out for the rest of the series.
According to the Indian Express, India might field three spinners in Manchester. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, who are both all-rounders, could team up with Kuldeep. If this happens, it would be unusual for India to have three spinners in their playing eleven in England.
India is currently behind in the series 1-2. There has been talk about including Kuldeep, who hasn’t played yet on this tour. His last Test was in Bengaluru last October, where he took three wickets in the first innings and none in the second.
Since his Test debut in March 2017, Kuldeep has played 13 Tests for India. He has an average of 22.16 and 56 wickets. Nitish Reddy’s injury could be a good chance for him.
Kuldeep has played only one Test in England, back in 2018. He didn’t take any wickets and gave up 44 runs. But, he has a good record against England in red-ball cricket, with 21 wickets in six matches at an average of 22.28.
Also, Kuldeep’s inclusion means Shardul Thakur will not be in the playing eleven, as he has been on the bench since the start of the series.
