Actor Humayun Ashraf recently revealed a troubling experience he had while visiting a shopping mall in Malaysia, where he encountered inappropriate behavior from a foreign man inside a restroom.

Speaking on Ushna Shah’s talk show, Humayun candidly discussed his career, personal values, and various challenges he has faced.

In response to a question, the actor stated that he would never work in a drama for free. He explained that doing so would make him lose motivation, and he believes other actors should also avoid working without compensation.

He also shared that he has considered producing his own project at times, but fear of failure and concerns about public reception hold him back. “What if people don’t like my style of work?” he said.

Humayun made it clear that he would never take on a transgender role in a Pakistani drama. He explained that such roles tend to lead to typecasting, and actors who play them are often offered similar characters repeatedly. However, he added that he might consider such a role if it came from an international production.

The actor then recalled a disturbing personal experience during a recent visit to Malaysia. While using a mall restroom, he noticed that two stalls were vacant. As he was deciding which one to use, he spotted a foreign man entering the other stall while making inappropriate gestures toward him.

Describing the situation as “very uncomfortable,” Humayun said he quickly entered one of the stalls and locked the door behind him. He admitted that he remained inside for a while, anxious about when the man would leave so he could exit safely.

The experience left a strong impression on him, highlighting how even routine activities can take an unexpected turn, especially in unfamiliar environments.
