Farokh engineer stand in manchester: Before the fourth Test match between India and England, former India wicketkeeper Farooq Engineer received a great honor. A stand named after him was named after him in Manchester. Farukh Engineer became the first player in India to be built in foreign grounds. At the same time, a stand was also named after former West Indies veteran batsman Clive Lloyd.

The ‘B Stand’ between the players and the Media Center at Old Trafford and on the expansion of the Hilton Hotel was formally stood on the first day of the fourth Test between India and England. Both Engineer and veteran captain Lloyd were present at the time of unveiling the stand in honor of his immense contribution at the Lancashire Cricket Club.

Farukh Engineer told PTI that this is not only for me but also for India. Both Clive and I were talking about it in the morning. We never thought that something like this would be done in our honor. God is great. The lack of identity in our country was fulfilled.

Raised resentment over Mumbai Cricket Association

Engineer (87 years) played most of his cricket at Brabourne Stadium, especially in Mumbai. He said that it is a shame that my achievements did not get respect where I have played most of my cricket. However, the engineer thanked the BCCI in 2024 for awarding him the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award.

Lancashire Cricket said in a statement, “Lancashire cricket is happy to announce that the club named a stand in Emirates Old Trafford named after Club veterans and Sir Clive Lloyd and Farrukh Engineer in the ‘Hall of Fame’. The ceremony took place on the first day of the fourth Test between England and India this morning in which the representative plaque of the club along with Sir Clive and Farukh attended. ”

Clive Lloyd has such a record with Lancashire

Lloyd, who was the World Cup winning captain twice with the West Indies, played 219 matches in first -class cricket for Lancasher between 1968 and 1986. He scored 12,764 runs and took 55 wickets. Lloyd took 8,522 runs and 60 wickets in List A Cricket for the club. He won two one -day league titles in 1969 and 1970, making a major contribution to Lancashire’s one -day successes. He won the Char Gillette Cup between 1970 and 1975 which includes a memorable innings of 126 runs against Warvikashar at Lord’s in 1972.

The international player of India was the wicketkeeper of Engineer Lancashere who represented the club from 1968 to 1976. He played 175 matches for the club, scoring 5,942 runs and took 429 catches and 35 stumping. The engineer’s brilliant performance with the bat and his amazing skills behind the stump started a golden era in Lancashere who was the king of ODIs in the 1970s. When Lloyd and Engineer made their debut for Lancashire, the club did not win a major title since 1950, but eight years later in 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1975, four times in Gillette Cup and John Player League in 1969 and 1970.
