More than 2.5 crore passengers travel daily by train across the country. Many of these passengers travel in reserved coaches. So a large number of passengers also travel in general coaches. Reserve coaches include sleeper and AC coaches. In them, passengers get more facilities than general coaches.

Traveling passengers also get food and water on their seat. But now IRCTC has started a new facility for general coach as well. Under which passengers traveling in general coach will also get packaged food and water on their seat. Let us tell you complete information about this.

Food and water will be available on seat in general coach

Indian Railways has started a special facility for passengers traveling in general coach. Now, passengers travelling in general coaches will also be provided good quality food and water by IRCTC during the journey. That too for just Rs 80. This food will include dal, rice, vegetable, roti, pickle. Spoons and napkins will also be provided.

If we talk about the quantity of food, it will be enough to fill the stomach of a common passenger comfortably. The packing will also be of very good quality. That is, just like the railways provides packed food in sleeper and AC coaches, similarly, food will be given to the passengers of general coach on their seats.

This facility is available in these trains

IRCTC has started the facility of providing food to general coach passengers on their seats in six trains. These include Gomti Express, Srinagar Ganganagar-New Delhi Intercity Express, Kaifiyat Express, Ayodhya Express, Barauni-Loni Express and Darbhanga-New Delhi Clone Express. Passengers travelling in these trains will now get good quality food and water directly on their seats at cheap rates.

Railways plans to soon implement this facility in more trains so that more and more passengers can take advantage of it. Passengers are liking this facility a lot. Therefore, soon it can be started from three more stations like Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Lucknow.
