Shreyanka Patil will miss the India A’s multi-format tour of Australia in August as her recovery from competitive cricket is taking longer than expected. She was part of the original touring party pending a fitness check from the NCA. However, her fitness clearance will now be delayed beyond the start of the T20 series on August 7.

In addition to Patil, legspinner Priya Mishra is also out of the tour with a mysterious injury. A source from BCCI has stated, “both players remain under the care of the BCCI Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence and are currently undergoing their return to play protocols.”

Yastika Bhatia is a new add-on, but only to the one day squad. The injured spinners will be replaced by Dhara Gujjar and Prema Rawat in all formats. Gujjar, who will only play in the ODI and multi-format series, and Rawat, T20 exclusive, will now be extending their stays from the selective squads they were in earlier.

Given that the Women’s ODI World Cup is set to take place in just over two months, the inclusion of Bhatia in the one-day squad suggests that the BCCI is likely keeping tabs on her. She did not play in the recent cameos of the bilateral series. Combined, India won 2 of the 3 matches, so India A came out on top 2-1.

From the 7th to the 24th of August, India A will play Australia in 3 T20s, 3 ODIs, and 1 four-day test.
