On the second day of the Manchester Test, former head coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri, openly expressed resentment over the disappointing performance of the Indian bowlers. He strongly criticized Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Anshul Kamboj in the post -lunch session. Shastri clearly said that India’s bowling was very weak and disappointing.
Before the Test match, it was expected that the pitch would help the bowlers a lot, but the Indian fast bowlers on the field could not stand on their line and length. He continued to put full pitch balls and England batsmen kept getting opportunities to play openly.
Speaking from the commentary box, Shastri said that there is a lack of continuity in the bowlers. The performance is very simple and sometimes it looks very cheap. If they do not improve, then the coach will have to talk in strict language.
England had a great start. Jack Croly and Ben Docket hit 77 runs in just 14 overs. In the first session, India got some relief from the five wickets of Ben Stokes, causing the team to be all out for 358 runs.
By the end of the day, England had scored 225 runs losing just two wickets. Siraj scored 58 runs in 10 overs, Kamboj scored 48 runs, while Bumrah conceded 37 runs in 13 overs. Shardul and Jadeja also proved to be very expensive.
