Modern Khadi Mall being built at a cost of 6.64 crores, will soon be ready
Bihar News: Another important step has been taken by the Bihar government to promote Khadi and Village Industries. The third Khadi mall of the state is being built at Bhatti Chowk in Purnia district. Its total cost is Rs 6.64 crore. This mall will prove to be a strong platform for Khadi weavers, artisans and rural entrepreneurs.

This mall will be of a three -storey structure. Its area will be 14 thousand 633 sqft. So far, about 60 percent of the construction work has been completed and there is a plan to open it to the public soon. Construction work is going on rapidly and complete preparations are being done so soon. The information has also been made public on its social media handler X.
In this mall, along with Khadi textiles, handmade products, village industries based goods, natural cosmetics, products made from herbs and artefacts of local craftsmen will also be available for sale. This will not only provide market to local products, but will also increase the access to rural products in urban areas.

It is worth noting that before this, two Khadi Malls are being operated in Patna and Muzaffarpur. Purnia’s Khadi Mall is being developed as a model for Eastern Bihar, which will also benefit the artisans of the surrounding districts. The objective of the state government is to provide self -employment opportunities to the youth through Khadi Mall and strengthen the branding of Khadi products.
