Tesla’s long-awaited entry into the Indian market is now official. The American electric vehicle (EV) giant has initiated the registration of its Model Y SUV in three major Indian cities — Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurgaon. Surprisingly, among these cities, Delhi has emerged as the most affordable place to buy a Tesla Model Y, even though Tesla’s first showroom in India has been set up in Mumbai.

Elon Musk’s Tesla has finally made a significant move in the Indian automotive market. After years of anticipation, the company has opened its first dealership in Mumbai and is offering registrations for Tesla Model Y in select cities. The brand's presence was confirmed when the Model Y was spotted on a test drive in Mumbai recently.

Even though the Mumbai showroom marks Tesla's official debut in India, customers from Delhi and Gurgaon can also register and order the vehicle through Tesla’s official Indian website.

Tesla is currently offering the Model Y in six color options:
